#CollectionCorner – Lego Death Star: Section 10

And then it was built. After two months (of intermittent) building I completed this immeasurable Lego set.

First up is the Conference Room where the Imperial leaders meet to discuss the missing plans as well as two of the dividing walls.

The table doesn’t secure to the base but can be used as a storage compartment for accessories.

Next up is the Droid Maintenance area. The area is filled up with a raising bed, a chair, a desk and a tool area that holds a wide array of gear for techs to use on Droids.

Another part of this section is where you build a lift that can go up and down the central shaft of the Battle Station which you can operate using the handle on the wall.

The third and final part is the Super Weapon control room where Tarkin and Vader made Leia watch as the destroyed Alderaan.

It features two consoles, one rotates 360 degrees and the other sides to side as that’s the one that rotates the Super Weapon. A handle is added to this one which allows the laser to raise up and down.

It also features a console with a changeable screen thanks to two stickers of the read outs we see in the aforementioned scene.

This section has three mini-figs, two Death Star Troopers and Grand Moff Tarkin. The Death Star Troopers look great, the helmets are well detailed and each comes with a blaster. Tarkin looks great, the hair piece is on point, the only things it’s missing are Peter Cushing’s fluffy slippers.

All done and it looks amazing. I won’t lie, I was filled with a great sense of accomplishment and also a bit of sadness that it was over. My holy grail of Star Wars Lego is now a complete part of my collection. It was a fantastic build and it’ll be a hard one to top.

Before I go, I would like to thank Sara for orchestrating this amazing Christmas gift and also thank both my parents and her family who contributed towards it. To say I was overwhelmed on Christmas Day when I opened it is an understatement.

And now, as they say, “The show must go on.” And there are two new Lego sets waiting to be built.
